This former fortress, and later residence of the Hungarian kings, centuries was a dominant of city. The silhouette of a hailstones with his four towers reminds many visitors the overturned table. It is proud it towers on a rocky ledge in height of 85 meters above a level of Danube and the best times of his existence are connected to 18 century when here from time to time there was the Hungarian queen Maria Terezija. In the past keltes, and later - Romans occupied mountain of a hailstones. Slavs, realizing strategic position of this place, in 9 century build here strong settlement with residential buildings and a large Christian church which base it is well visible in east court yard of a hailstones
