What`s on the menu for dinner tonight?
This is another street in Bairro Alto, the traditional Fado district, and for those ones that have never been in Lisbon and never heard about "FADOS" I`de like to say that the "FADO" is for the Portuguese what the "BLUES" are for the Black Americans, as the "TANGO" is for the Argentinians or as the "FLAMENCO" is for the Spanish!
Somebody wrote that "FADO"is a "profound expression of the popular soul of Lisbon": even when badly sung, its rough-edged poems, unpolished words, unrequired love, betrayal, forgetting, passions, promises...FADO plunges its listeners into a kind of emotive trance!!!
