I much prefer this to your other flower shot...it shows far more originality. The crop is very interesting but maybe you could be bolder still and crop off another few centimetres, so that all the petals are turning down from the top of the frame? That would also remove the slightly distracting highlights on the topmost petals. Just an idea!! But it is pretty good as it is!

1: Dear Mike. I have no intention to be original, I just want to share things I love. Nevertheless I`m pleased by your opinion. It`s a good idea to crop it more. I had a strong desire to not crop it at all, but unfortunately there was a defect on the upper right corner of flower head. Now I understand that if I had to crop I had to crop more. Thank you for idea. I`ll try to publish such variant and the hole flower head (I finally decided that I can bear this defect). I would try to remove highlights but it will take a lot of time with a risk to obtain something sterile. P.S. I suppose it`s not "petals" ("wrapper"? -
I don`t know english term).
3: Спасисибо за комплимент, на самом деле я так тоже не умел до 2 января. Как сделано:
1. Снято летом в собственном саду со вспышкой - чтобы не было резких теней от яркого солнечного света.
2. Применен фильтр "poster edges" (малая толщина и интенсивность), затем кадр сжат. Здесь есть одна тонкость: моя Minolta дает очень большое разрешение (5млн пикселей), и постер выглядит довольно нежно. Если поступить наоборот: сначала сжать, а потом применить постер, то получится ужасно грубо. Постер, кстати, нивелирует нерезкость кадра, которая неизбежна при съемке с рук с 4-х кратным увеличением, особенно если есть ветерок.
3. Края замазаны кистью. Я недавно купил перо Aiptek, оно просто преобразило работу над изображениями.
4. К сожалению, сверху был дефект обертки соцветия (то есть того, что народ считает лепестками). Пришлось сильно обрезать. На я все-таки решил опубликовать как-нибудь полный цветок.
