In the center of Vologda, on the Kremlin area, there is here this monument to the Russian poet Konstantin Batyushkov which was born, veins and has died in Vologda. On the tablet it is written: " to Batyushkov - grateful descendants ". And a place - the most popular for meetings. Refers to - meetings at a horse! Very lovely, the truth?)))

у нас в вестибюле РХТУ стоит памятник Менделееву, тоже популярное место встреч студентов, называется "у дедушки" или "у белого" - по цвету памятника - http://ff02.photofile.ru/photo/02a/b41/1239255/large/25423749.jpg
