2003 Christina Stuermer was placed second in a TV casting show called "Starmania" which looked for a new-comer singer. Whilst the winner faded away without success Christina made her way into the charts in Austria and Germany, gets one award after the other and sells in the meantime tousands and tousands of CDs.
In fact she reduced the saying "2nd place is the first looser" to absurdity.
