The Rose
The rose sits quietly in the evening sunlight
Its beauty and fragrance filling the sultry air
…….. a symbol of love
Waiting … for the hand to cut it from the plant
And to be given with love to another
To see the passion between the lovers
The tears in the eyes as it is received
The kiss … that symbolises
The deep … deep desire for each other
It sits in a vase …
Watching the days go by
Seeing the moments of tenderness and joy
As the live their life as one
Until the petals start to fall ….
Like tears of sadness when they are apart
To be replaced … as a rejuvenation of their love
As their passion is rekindled and fulfilled
