Not a poetic title, just the truth... :-)
A special place, a small island at middle of the Rio de la Plata, between Argentina and Uruguay.. Martin Garcia , its name ..
Witness of many facts at our history... battles for our independence at the river... and a prision... for common and for political prisoners..
When it was closed, its inside was destroyed, but they kept the walls, the windows and gates..
I imagined the feeling of those leaving... and I remember something i read long ago..
"As a fish only knows what water means, when it is taken out of it.. a man can only know the whole meaning of freedom when he looses it.. "

"a man can only know the whole meaning of freedom when he looses it.. " - how true ! Your title reflects the image very well, esepceially with the knowledge that this gate is on a small island. Alcatraz style, I know the feeling smile . Like the light and tones, and the sunlight creating the "bars" reflection on the ground. Nice one !
