Photo Lake O'hara from ground view by Jim Griffin

Our alpine circuit hike at Lake O'hara in Yoho National Park Canada is now over. While waiting for the bus ride back to the main road(about 7 mi. away) I decide to go down to the lake for one last photo of the great scenery. This has not been the longest or hardest hike I've ever done, but certainly one of the most memorable. The steepest part of the hike is at the beginning so one's legs are fresher. The toughest part of this 12 mile hike is that most of the hike is done on rocky terrain which makes it tough on the feet and knees. However, if you can ever get a chance to do this great hike, it is well worth the effort. I had to make my bus reservation 3 months in advance to get into Lake O'hara for a day hike. This does make it nice in that they control the number of people that come into this pristine area. They have cabins that sit right along the lake which are pricey and small, but what a great view. Hope you've all enjoyed the hike....Scanned negative.

This is the photo with markings to show some of the area that were hiked and from where some of the pictures were taken. This shot is not too far from where the hike starts. Wiwaxy gap is to the left and out of the shot. All Soul's Prospect is to the right and out of the shot as well. The other locations are labelled to give you an idea of the alpine circuit hike at lake O'hara. my variant of the photo

oh what a pity that this is the last one! i will miss these wonderful mountains. thanks for having taken us along with you! the whole series was a fantastic virtual trip through a truly magic place! my regards!
