Kissing under the mistletoe is first found associated with the Greek festival of Saturnalia and later with primitive marriage rites. Mistletoe was believed to have the power of bestowing fertility, and the dung from which the mistletoe was thought to arise was also said to have "life-giving" power.

I always wondered what kind of plant, or tree, mistletoe grows on. You have now enlightened me smile . It´s also THAT time of year coming up soon. I always associate mistletoe with Christmas, for some strange reason.

I really like the hue, saturation and light. Nice shot.

These are nice big patches of mistletoe. I used to shoot it from the trees in the winter and make displays with a pine log and fake snow when I was a kid and sale them in the neighborhhod. Thanks for bringing back good memoeies smile
