It is a place near a town where I work. Looks so destroyed, but impressively beautiful. I can only say that it really could be worse...

Dmitorij, try and download "virtual photographer" - PS plug-in that is really great.
Good luck!

when I look at it, nothing is wrong. Nice composition with old trunk.

Norbert Dabkowski Norbert Dabkowski #9 Wed 21 Nov 2007 12:25

Thanks a lot Nada! You're right, nothing looks that bad in this shot. Maybe when I extend this idea into an album - then you could be in the picture. But this pone alone - apparently doesn't tell the whole story.
Thanks for reminding me!
My best regards!

i don't see it destroyed.. why you say that.. is it contaminated?.. trees cut at deforestation? maybe these tones helped to hide that..
i like the composition and mood here, Norbert

Norbert Dabkowski Norbert Dabkowski #10 Wed 21 Nov 2007 12:27

Thanks Sylvia for popping in!
It is a man-made pond after expoiting a mine that used to be there. I'm planning to make it a album of photos from that place with images showing the man's influence more obviously.
And thank you for your remarks!
My regards!

Appropriate title. A very nice perspective on the shot, and great light and focus arrangement.

Norbert Dabkowski Norbert Dabkowski #12 Wed 21 Nov 2007 12:30

Thanks Cameron! I do value your perceptiveness; despite the lack of obvious 'man' evidence, you saw that it must have been done by man...
My best regards!

Norbert Dabkowski Norbert Dabkowski #13 Wed 21 Nov 2007 12:33

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. I was actually nearly sitting on the stump of the very tree.
Thank you for your attention!
