The locals Kiwis call this plant "a cabbage tree". Actually ,it looks pretty much like a palm... but they say it tastes like that vegie...I`ve not tasted it yet.
The a wee bit weird framing has been chosen in order to balance the original picture... because these spraying leaves have created an illusion of the non-symmetry.
