Очень много сверху, а снизу, наоборот, не хватает

Robert-Alexandre Gravet Robert-Alexandre Gravet #7 mon 5 Apr 2010 19:50

I absolutly disagree with you: here you have 1/3- 2/3.

And also the trees on the right side, that I wont cut.

Let me explain my opinion in details:

You see the curved line on the bottom? It looks like... mmh... like a rudiment. There must be something below to show that it is because of some idea but not because of occasion.

Saying "1/3 to 2/3" you mean the horizon line I suppose? But where is the horizon? Why it is the line right behind the trees but not the mountains' highs line? I think you're too formal in this point.

To me, it would be proper to shift the view down by 10% and to make the sky darken a bit on left-top corner so that the cloud would have been better to see. This solution would resolve to problems:
1. first it will fill the vacuum in the corner
2. secondly, it would be a counterweight to the trees on the right. Very good counterweight because of similar forms of both the cloud and the trees.

Hello Vladislav;

Thank you very much for giving me more details, now I can understand what you mean.

For me the "horizon line" in this case is a kind of "virtual" and it's given by the first mountain line: with the trees=
the 1/3 and then the 2/3 are given by the second mountains line and also the sky.

If you look careffully in the sky, I leave some clouds on the left side, to equilibrate the wiew with the trees on the right side.

I think I was lucky to get these clouds, that give a kind of mirroring effect of the trees.

Despite what it seems, I have tried to calculate the composition of this picture.

But thank you, once again, to give me a constructive comment.

I do appreciate that.

Warmest Regards.

Robert

Dear Robert,

I do agree the cloud is a very good point of the photo. I just suggest to distinguish it more.

And... I still feel that you've been cut the bottom! smile

Hello Vladislav,

I will check that, and repost another one with your suggestion.

I have add you in my favorite photographer, due to the high quality of your pictures and the quality of your comments.

For Vladimir : this is the original version, without any recropping...

I think that's the best.

Warmest regards.

Thank you!

Right, it becomes better. See, I just cropped it on top a bit, and tried to accent the cloud. Unfortunately I don't have enough tools here in office, but hope the idea is clear my variant of the photo
