Artwork at Boston Logan International Airport is part of Artport, the airport's public art program. As part of each construction project, new pieces are added. Terminal C has two Passing Reflections giant mirrored-
wall sculptures by James Seawright (at the north and south walls of the terminal) that fragment and reflect the image of each passerby.

James Seawright is a modernist sculptor who was born in Jackson, Mississippi in 1936. As a boy, he discovered machine tools at a friend’s house, which launched his lifelong love of making objects by hand. Later, when serving in the United States Navy, he pursued every available opportunity to work with new tools and materials. Inspired by the Bauhaus movement, which he said, “was doing revolutionary things with light even before the war,” he realized that he could “use modern electronics and controlled technology to apply to sculpture.” Seawright became a pioneer of interactive sculptures, using mirrors and electronic components in his work. Seawright was for many years Director of Visual Arts at Princeton University. Recognized as one of the foremost technological artists since the late 1960's, his works are in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum and the Guggenheim Museum of New York,
the Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University, the New Jersey State Museum at Trenton, and other museums throughout the world.

Спасибо за ваши оценки и интерес к этой теме.

Если серьезно, то поскольку работа скульптора все же больше связана с искусством (помните советские заголовки: абстракционизм - искусство духовной нищеты?), то можно скорее говорить об авторском праве на интеллектуальную собственность, а не о патенте. Плагиат в искусстве встречается нередко, но как-то чаще с более популярными формами, что и понятно: крадут, чтобы многократно продать и, соответственно, получить выгоду. Заказчик скульптуры не массовый потребитель и легко разберется в обмане так что лучше развивать собственные скульптурные идеи.

Однако, сами скульпторы зачастую повторяют себя (на что они вполне имеют право).
