el capitan (the chief).....sheer rock rising from the earth and reaching for the skies....one single rock.....that stands aloof....watching over the happenings of nature.....summer brooks freezing to winter ice.....spring flowers withering into the icy cold....green leaves shedding through fall....and all the while, the chief weathers onslaughts of rain, winter storms and summer heat....

this is the el capitan at yosemite...captured the morning after a snow storm....

Oh yes, when one stands at the bottom of this rock, one hardly can grasp all of its vastness - it is so immense! Definetely the chief of the area, watching over everything!
Great capture of it!!

Nice frame and clouds Srini, I see the rock slightly out of focus and a black band at the bottom. you might be able to correct both problems in the computer.
Great composition and contrasts!

hello rafael...thanx for taking the time...actually the black border is courtesy photoforum.ru...i usually choose black for the border....for some reason only the thin band at the bottom came up this time...i`ll check the focus issue....didnt notice it before...
