name:
Jean-Sebastien Monzani
notes:
If I had to pick up a sentence to describe my artistic research, it would be these words of Antoine de Saint-Exupery:
"Perfection in design is not achieved when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing more to remove."
The ideas behind my photos often come from theatre, cinema (I like their narrative impact), to advertising or images from the internet. My favourite artists include Patrick Demarchelier, Jeanloup Sieff, Peter Lindberg or Jean-Franзois Jonvelle.
I`ve never been too keen on technical conversations: while it`s necessary to master your tools, I`ve noticed that many amateur photographers hide their lack of creativity behind expensive equipment. This has always surprised me! That`s why I also work almost exclusively under natural lightning - and avoid the studio as well...
