Bears again :)

Three-year-old bear, i.e., adolescent, pretend to attack the most senior and massive bear on the waterfall (alpha - male).

This was necessary for three-year-old in order to conquer the authority of his company, which consists of three young bears. It was evidently how he fears to approach closely to the hulk of alpha - male, and even the threatening demonstration of the jaws was the only show-up.

Alpha-male quietly stood on the spot, growled time to time to show youngsters their place. He didn’t make any actions toward them, understanding, that in the bear world the size does matter :)

Brooks Falls, Katmai national park, Alaska.
300 mm, ISO 200, f11, 1/500s, EV-1, tripod.

Great action !

Regards,

Timo

Ps. I`ve heard that size does matter for humanrelations too smile

I`ve heard that too smile
But in contrast to the bears, people fortunately
needs more than just a "size" to build a good relationship.
And that`s good smile

Thank you for the comment, Timo.

Katrin Andreyeff Katrin Andreyeff #22 Wed 18 Aug 2004 08:54
