Newcastle-upon-Tyne has five bridges (recently increased to 6 by new Millennium bridge) which span the River Tyne. My son has just started at University there and this was taken on a recent visit to see him.

Great shot. The composition is wonderful. Choosing to include the posts on the dock makes this photo much more interesting than a shot of just the bridge. Good work!

Thanks to everyone who has commented so far. In answer to the last point, the lighting is natural but I under-exposed to emphasise the colours of the sky, then lightended the resulting dark foreground to bring out the detail I had lost. The picture was taken with a Sony DSC-F505V digital camera.
