Fascinating tiles=Azulejos

This must be one of the most celebrated facades in Lisbon, with its trompe l`oeil figures designed by the famous Portuguese ceramic painter Luis Ferreira and representing the Four Elements and the Arts and Trades.

It is a very grand building and looks very dramatic against the dark sky. I thought of your photography this afternoon. We were watching television, (some people looking for a home in Portugal), and there were street scenes. They reminded me of yours except that they were in colour. Some of the facades had faded with age and changed from white to various shades of pastel. I thought they would look good photographed for their abstract colour qualities.
