Certainly He did. But he wasn`t peticiularly posing for me, if U` mean that ?
I was only 5-7 meters a front of him and He was on that same stage where were 20 other bands, during 3 days.
There were 3-4 photographers who did shoot pictures for all the bands, mostly from local newspapers but me and my colleague for the arranger of that festival.
During those 3 days there were over 32.000 spectators in that festival.
Which is pretty well when there`s bit over 5 million people in whole country =oP
This shot could not be better. I would think it was taken in a concert, but it could be a very plan one, even considering the zone system. White is white but it keeps details (texture), black is black but keeps details too, and the background and its gradation is perfectly located, in order to contrast. The grey range is awesome.
Yes he is really playing there and there`s not other imagehandling used than turning to B&W from EOS 10D RAW file. I didn`t even have to crop this picture. Just needed some toning +sharpening as D-SLR:s RAW-pictures allways do need.
Mostly I did shoot jpg-format `cause going allmost 2000 pictures thru, is pretty big job. Specially when it was my first shoothing for digital format whit rented 10D and I didn`t have any kind of imagebank just 4Gt microdrive.
Maybe next festivaljob i will shoot only in RAWmode, because I do have X`s drive II etc. equpement which is giving opportunity to do so. And laptop is coming before next festival-season.
