Great and rare scene! Just little bit blured, is it original size (then I see why quality isn`t excelent) or picture is reduced in size (then it mast be better if orignal was good, or maybe shutter speed was low and you didn`t use tripod)

Beautiful work Doug.

I can feel the thin air - an aerial shot or a long climb?

Doug Dolde Doug Dolde #7 вс 16 дек 2001 22:14

No thin air here; 1500 ft elev max. Shot at roadside.

the only thing that is wrong here is the sun
all the perfect union of the notched mountain spines and the sea of clouds they emerge from is broken by those reflections of the sun – if only you had arrived there one minute later
but again a programme like corel could help you out
then you would have this incredible shot

of course this is highly subjective
too many might say that the sun is exactly what this picture needs to be saved from – you name it, monotony or anything else

they might be wrong

ps what i also noticed is that if you cut the picture roughly 8.8 centimetres from the left and throw away the smaller part you get another truly amazing shot

(now why do we find such things amazing – could it be because they are rare
is that reason enough)

very interesting insight by greg summers
