Hill tribe near Chiang Mai, Thailand. The only thing important to me was his face and the smoke, so I used minimum DOF.( The waterpipe should be still obvious even though it`s not sharp.)

what on earth is he doing

quite exotic

what i most like here is the background on the right
sould save a number of pictures by itself

and i love the smoke

hello again

you were right in what you said
everything is - highly i would add - subjective
you shoot what you no one else think is good extraordinary fabulous etc
you crop cut edit etc as you not anyone else want
because you know what you want to say do express suggest etc
beause it is all subjective - and also because of my inborn modesty we have to admit that - i use words like would could might maybe perhaps what about what if etc
and questions
and question marks

but suggestions are still good and welcome
exactly because we are so damn subjective we do not see the woods for the tree remember yes we do we most liokely see the fault - or awkwardness (or gawkiness) - in somebody else`s work than in our own

that was the only reason - and still is to a great extent - why i suggested what i suggested about cropping

and speaking about that
in your picture of rail ways the upper part is indeed good for nothing by itself i do not even remember having suggested it was (but it was probably my broken language that made me difficult to understand)
the lower half would be good by itself exactly because (well, among other minor things) the light suggsting the train disapears it really is nothing of the extraordinary

but again it is your photo

until of course i take it and change it and make it mine
if i took the trouble to do that busy though i was commenting and rating

to return to the picture here
i really do - i have to confess - love the smoke
i simply can`t help it
