With all the sadness and trials of the past year, I look back o those moments of beauty that gave me hope for the future. I took this image the morning of September 11. I haven`t looked at it since. It is time to remember the beauty of our world still lives.

We`ll always live through the two faces human deeds...the good and the ugly and we`ll have to make the most of it, as you did!

For me its like its underwater. Exploading from the center which is very sharp. The blend from yellow to a bronze and then red is vey effective. Another outstanding shot IMHO.

I see the beauty.....the awakening of a blossom...the awakening of another year.

For that day I shot for the widow, I supose being more in tune with the female side of grief. But renewal is essential and this is a fine lesson.
To the New Year, May it be brighter and wiser.

Chris - I had no idea that the WTC tragedy had happened. I was in a garden of a friend as i usually was from July intil the first frost killed the flowers. The dahlias were ripe and overgrown and this blossom seemed to radiate light and warmth. it is only in retrospect that I remembered this flower. As I packed up to leave, my friend told me about the plane that crashed in to the first tower. I didn`t quite understand what it all meant - I still don`t think I do or ever will. To find this image that represented a moment of peace was like finding a little calm in a storm.
