It was taken from the top of mount Sinai, called, too, mount Mose, after climbing it for about 5 hours at night, to see the wonderful sunrise. There are two roads to do it. One, known as camel`s road, and then to descend, another one , called "of the 3000 steps", to reach the place of depart, the monastery of St Catherine.

The best thing here is the atmosphere, well done.
This could be from Mars also, perhaps you publish your first photo from there next time wink
What is the nearest place of civilazation from here, and how far?

hi, veikko! the next somehow city there is dahab.. a paradise for diving... it is about 30/40 km at east of this mount, at the gulf of Aqaba, at red sea.. ... and dahab 80 km far from sharm el sheik.. city at the very south of Sinai peninsula
