Jean-Baptiste Andre Godin (1817-1888) was a genius. He was the founder of a kitchen materials factory.

To put his advanced social ideas in concret form, he has built a big lot of equipments dedicated to his workers : school, theater, garden...and this beautiful building that I am presenting to you with this photo.

The equipment was very advanced for the period : water supply, household refuse boxes and water-closets at each floor.

The building is still inhabited at this moment but there are serious social problems because the equipments need important maintenance works and people don`t want to quit their flats. They are afraid to be expelled...

The buiding is situated in a little north city : Guise.
