Very interesting.
What is the meaning of these structures?
Is it in Japan?

Hi Sept 11;
You are right, it is in Japan, in an old budist temple near the city of Kyoto. The structures are like candles bording a long way to the temple entrance and the monks turn on a small candle inside them when the night is comming.

Sculptures are similar to a chess.
