Monument to the king Danylo. He was the Prince of Principality of Galicia-Volhynia. During his ruling the country with the capital in Halych (now – town in Ivano-Frankivsk region of Ukraine) reached its biggest might. He struggled against Hungary, Poland and tatars. The principality had strong influence among Western Europe countries. Danylo had built the cities of Lviv and Kholm. In 1254 Pope had given to Danylo Galytskyi the title of king. The monument is a sign of respect to King Danylo as to a light page of Ukrainian history.
