Walking along the street that borders the river, El Riachuelo as we call it, I saw an old store, where all kind of good for ships were sold… it looked like empty, but at the roof, this strange kind of ship figurehead made me stop… an old man walking beside me stopped, too.. I saw traces of many seas, designing his face… he began to whistle a tango’s tune, “tomorrow a ship weighs anchor” that I had heard before… it came to my mind the lyrics…

Shores that do not change we touch when anchoring.
One hundred ports give us the music of the sea.
Sad eyes girls come to greet us
and the taste of the drinks seems always the same.
Only here, in your port the heart is happy.
Riachuelo, where it bleeds the voice of the bandoneуn.
Let us dance until the echo of the last beat…
tomorrow a ship weighs anchor, perhaps it won't return.
The old man smiled to me, and went on walking… I watched the figurehead and imagine all ports, all sorrows and laughs, all pains and hopes… I went on walking too, but that smile came along with me all the way… =)
