View from the Panamericana down the coastal range to the Pacific Ocean. The dry air near the Atacama desert makes for perfect star gazing. You can see the clouds only covering the ocean, they don`t make it up the mountains. The largest telescope on earth, the Europe Southern Observatory`s VLT is only a couple of km away. (Panorama - two pictures stitched together)
