deliciously edible image, especially the Victoria plums. Personally I think the light is too direct, a more diffused light would enhance the flesh and also soften out the colours and shadows. Try a white sheet between the light source and your subject should be enough to diffuse any harshness

Delicious, I cannot think how to improve the taste.
Excellent still !!
Great colours and details Brian.
I like it.
Regards.
Nice shot.
Really a fruit salad, Brian. For a still life to use an or two fruits and the natural light of a window filtered by a fine curtain to be more delicate. Continue trying, because when I made my first still life with breads, my master wondered that was a still or I were selling breads. A big hug, my friend.
Excellent, beautiful and very delicious composition! Lovely catch!!
Kisses to you, my dear friend!
A juicy picture,Brian!
Just may I suggest to use less light?Did you use a flash?some fruits or vegetables reflect a lot the light, this is difficult to do!
that's good for a first time
warm regards!
sarah.
First of of all, IMHO, you need to make more focused shot. And then all the rest, that the others already said.
Hi Brian
As you know, light and shadow never stand still...
My opinion is that the best way to improve our works is to see, and learn how to see the XVI/XVII/XVIII centuries masters, Melйndez, Moilon, Caravaggio, Campi, Zurbaran, Sбnchez-Cotбn, etc...they have stunning paintings and WE all can learn a lot!!!
I also thing that your first attempt is much better than mine, so just don't give up, my friend...this is an ageless subject and , as you also know, such subjective as personal taste. My kindest regards to you.
