Whenever I travel to Europe to wallow in the history, food and culture, there's always one thing I miss - the gum trees.
There's nothing plain about them, they always have a look of being attacked by something and there always things living on or in them. Sometimes they seem dead, like this one here beside Lake Jindabyne, but new life springs from the roots.
