notes:
As I said before, the collection of heraldic sculpture in the Museum is one of the most significant in Portugal and is represented by several examples of Royal heraldry (it displays the coat of arms of members of the Portuguese Royal Family), Municipal heraldry (It concerns district councils and local administration), Ecclesiastical heraldry (related with Catholic Church) and Family heraldry (it displays their symbology).
The oldest heraldic representations (14th and 15th centuries) are funerary and can be found in the tombs which are inside the main chapel, covered areas, the rest can be seen along the church walls.
Thank you for you kind support.
Kindest regards.

Liebe Kathleen
Anyway I thank you very much for your support and kind comments, I understand it, but I´m afraid I'm not able to write germain anymore!
Gruss, Luquesio

Is that the Melo family heraldry?

luquesio melo luquesio melo #16 mon 14 Nov 2005 20:07

No, my friend, my family's heraldry is a polychrome piece, red background wiyh a double cross in gold and six bezants in silver, golden bordure and the crest is a black eagleadorned with gold...and of course, It's inside underthe covered areas...:-)))))
