This modest castle near Tongeren in Belgium is most likeley the place where the grandfather of the great composer Ludwig van Beethoven was born. Louis (Ludwig) van Betho (and not Von Beethoven) moved to Mechelen and in 1733 to Bonn. Van Beethoven means in Dutch : from the court (hof) of Betho.
