This is the famous Santa Justa lift that connects Lisbon downtown to Largo do Carmo, right next to the ruins of Carmo Convent, which houses the Archaeological Museum!
The metal frame work supporting the two lift cages is a beautiful Neo-Gothic-style tower
designed by Raoul Mesnier and Louis Rednaud at the beginning of XX century (1901), and from its top we have a fabulous panoramic view of Lisbon!
