notes:
The Gardenia can be a very difficuly flower to grow here in the UK.It takes a lot of patience and tender loving care,it requires a daytime temp.of 18%C and about 22%C at night, but it is well worth the trouble for it's beautiful perfume and waxey petals.Enjoy my friends and have a peaceful week-end.Regards,Brian.

In Florida, gardenias are available on their own root system ("own root") or grafted on Gardenia thunbergia rootstock. Grafted plants are usually more vigorous and produce more and larger flowers than "own root" plants. Those grafted on Gardenia thunbergia are not as cold hardy north of Tampa, Orlando and Cocoa. Many grafted gardenias, however, are grown as interior plants in homes, offices, and shopping malls in northern states.
