i live at Quilmes. a town 16 km near Buenos Aires, beside the river.. the Rio de la Plata, which name means silver's river.. some say they called it that way coz conquerors used it to transport that metal from far Potosi mines at Bolivia to the Atlantic and from there to Spain..
Others say that its name come from its brightness.., same i "caught" last Saturday in this image, which has no filters or other special light's controls... only contrast and sharpness..
i love this river.. not only coz it is part of my roots and culture.. (one of our poets said that tango will die the day that Rio de la Plata may disappear from earth.. ).. but also coz it is so wide that you cant see the other bank... so, i imagine it is the sea.. my own precious sea, full of glitters and stories...

an amazing photograph. The "Rio de la Plata", yes "river of silver", deserves its name well!
