I was sure it was you. So I can't retain no more from asking you: why do you cut that trees?
I like the circles on the ground, also an excellent technique for a contre jour. Some hints? smile

Rosana Ziemba:

Because I have not more space to go back and had not more wide-angle lens. Second reason: I need to put a camera on the shadow from the stem of tree. The flare was small, I have created it in photoshop and avoided flares and reflections in the lens.
Yes, you are right, it would be better to expand some spaces form top and bottom, but I did not thought about it can not repeat the shooting.

Some hints?

No, just my mistakes.

But you gave me the hints, Nikolai: to stay in the shadow, about flare. The photo looks very good and catches the eye.
So, did you think about taking some "portrait" photos and stitch them? I guess that it worth it. The view is great there, and the shadows on the ground are special. Even I had digital camera for some years, I never tried a panorama.

No, I have never thought about panoramic portraits:
1) I do not like to make portraits
2) I could not imagin the reason to make portraits from several images

Even I had digital camera for some years, I never tried a panorama.

I have digital camera about 8 months only and it is my 7 or 8-th panorama. I am learning and trying some variants... Film camera is not very good thing for panorama making.
Glad to talk with you smile

Ha, ha, ha...my english is so bad. Let me try something else.... When I said "portrait" I thought about keeping the camera vertical, not orizontal, so that the trees fit into the picture. I used that word thinking at a printer options: "landscape (orizontal paper) or "portrait" (vertical paper). Hope you'll understand now. I must take some English lessons. smile

No I did not make vertical panoramas yet, I have used (and like it a lot) Panorama Factory software, it allows only horizontal panoramic photos. I have an interest to try 2 rows panoramas so I will not need to cut stitched image for moving horizon line from middle, but could not found software working so accurate and simple as Panorama Factory and allowing to stitch vertical or multirows panoramas. I have tried Canon Photostitch and Realviz Stitcher 4.0 more, but did not like it.

The composition is near flawless and the technique is excellent as the full dynamic range is covered very well here. A very competent image. BTW...I hardly ever comment in any depth so as to not "hurt" feelings:-).

Nikolay Obukhov Nikolay Obukhov #9 Tue 21 Mar 2006 06:28

Согласен, тут вообще следовало и деревьев больше взять и низа. Но там внизу тропинка была, которая не в тему была бы. И я еще не умею работать с многорядными панорамами smile
