Itapuca rock, Icarai beach. This rock is believed to have in its interior a couple, who died for their forbidden love and was transported into the rock by the god of thunder and the moon. This couple was Jurema and Cauby, an indian woman and a white man. Jurema was to marry the strongest warrior of her tribe, but she fell in love with cauby, whom she was forbidden to see. Every night she sang and cried in front of the rock, until the day Cauby appeared to her. The couple was found and executed. Tupan, the indian god of thunder, was asked by the moon to take them to the interior of the rock, where they would be as one. So, Tupan fulfilled the moons desire. Beautiful story, isnt it? ;)
