I am glad that you have liked it. This is very old part of Belgrade (called Zemun), beside river Danube. Only this part of the city was under Austro-Hungarian empire,.. everything else (on the other side of the river) was under Ottomans. This is a place where east meets west...

Those stones are standing there for centuries,... so they have become very smooth and shiny. Only brave girls wear high heels in this street

On the bottom of the street is river Danube. Long, long time ago, instead of those yellow lanterns, there used to be a street of "red lights". As you can see beside trade going on at the river banks,... there was another kind of trade up the street.
In books we can read about those two big empires and wars between them (this was the front line),... differences of culture and religion,... but this street is just a simple segment of another story...
