As one can see, the bears seem to do better when it comes to catching the fish. I guess in one way though, at least the fiserman doesn't have to worry about the bear taking HIS fish. Katmai National park Alaska.

Excellent photo. All has ended well?

Jim Griffin Jim Griffin #7 Sat 2 Dec 2006 16:23

zyes, all ended well. The bear has got his fish and plenty of others. Still, they tell all the fisheman to cut the line if the bear starts coming for the fishermans fish.

Does he?
GREAT MOMENT, but focus on the bear could be little better.

Nada,
I guess on my screen the bear looks very sharp. Fisherman is slightly out of focus due to depth of field, but that's not what I'm focusing on. I know some phtogrophers on this site and others tend to over sharpen to make it look sharp on the screen, but that's a metter of taste in my opinion. Thanks for the comment though.

They need to rename this park to Brave Fisherman and Photographers National Park smile Great shot Jim ! I read in the other comments about cutting the line... So what do they tell you to do when you look tastier than the fish ? wink

Jim Griffin Jim Griffin #14 Sat 2 Dec 2006 23:29

Anything but run. smile Do you know that these large animals can run in excess of 35 mph. Fotunately, the fish look a lot tastier. smile

I didn't know how fast they went I just knew they go faster than us smile I was chased by a momma black bear as a child in the smokies. The only thing that stopped her was a ranger with a very loud whistle in cades cove smile I know I was lucky it was a short chase and a lucky abrupt end, They ended up catching her and cubs and moved them higher in elevation.
