Far from ways for tourists, far from Montmartre or Tower Eiffel it exists in Paris some almost unknown places, like true villages....Formerly, Menilmontant and Belleville were popular neighborhoods that had not a good reputation... At first XXe century there was especially vague lands , leprous buildings, shady bars and bad boys. It did not be good to risk himself there.. Some of the most popular singers as Edith Piaf or Maurice Chevallier came from here. Today the neighborhood preserved a special atmosphere, with its narrow sloping streets , its secret passages, its stairs, its old houses.. Strolling in the lanes gives to discover another Paris with a lot of charm... A great photographer Willy Ronis lived there and gave superb photos of this place. .
