this is the sixth of a serie about Queluz National Palace, a portuguese national monument located in the lisbon surroundings. Ancient residence of the kings of Portugal, its construction began in the XVIII century, under the direction of the portuguese architect Mateus Vicente de Oliveira, and, given its exuberant baroque-rococo architecture and gardens, is also nicknamed the Portuguese Versailles.
this serie is about palace's gardens, design by the frenchman Jean-Baptiste Robillon, who, after 1755, took the place of the portuguese architect and carry on with the work in the palace and gardens.
