Mom and the cubs come down to the river to check out the sites. Actually, I was quite surprised to see the mother and her cubs this close to the large males that were fishing at the river. It was certainly a risk as it has been known that on occasion a male grizzly will go after the cubs. Of course, the big problem with that is mom will protect her cubs to the death if she has to. Katmai National Park, Alaska...scanned slide.
