Lake O'hara...We start the climb

notes:
This is by far one of the prettiest spots I've had the pleasure of hiking. If you think of Lake O'Hara as a clock and we started at the lodge(seen in lower right) at the 4 oclock setting, we have hiked clockwise to about 7 oclock and started our hike up. Our first destination after a couple of more pictures will be Wiwaxy gap. As you look across the lake, we are going to continue all around the lake clockwise. Part of the trail sits below the top of the mountainous wall on the other side of the lake. I'll try to upload a variant to show one of our final stops before the descent back to the lodge known as All Souls prospect. You can make it Billy H. I have faith in you. :-)

This is the same picture but with All Souls Prospect marked at the tail of the letter P. This is as amazing of a trail as I have ever been on as a lot of the trail is cut into the side of the mountain. The weather couldn't of been any better for this great hike. my variant of the photo

I knew you'd be ready to go Sil. This is the steepest part of the hike, but well worth the view.

Oh my ! Very impressive Jim ! I tell you what I have faith in is my Honda !!! Ya'll wait right here I'm going back to the lodge to pick up my 4 wheeler smile If we are going to that P in variant I may need to bring some extra gas too !! Great work as always Jim !

Jim Griffin Jim Griffin #15 Wed 24 Jan 2007 17:23

That 4 wheeler won't work on these trails Billy. Too much loose rock here for that smile . Not to mention, as we get closer to Wiwaxy gap it gets quite steep. That Honda would flip right over!!!
