very good light, the land in distance looks vey menacing, and not inviting, maybe that is why this is a jetty and not a bridge !!!

The horizon line is strong because of the ^special weather, and also due to the diffusing light apllied on the water to increase this natural effect...
Maybe too strong if I agree with you.
