First we had the lovey dovey seals, now we have the unhappy puffins. Actually, don't know if they are unhappy but this was the way they posed for the camera. Taken from wikipedia, "Unlike many animals, puffins form long-term pair bonds. The female lays a single egg and both parents incubate the egg and feed the chick. The incubating parent holds the egg against their brood patch with their wings. The chicks fledge at night. After fledging, the chicks spend the first few years of their lives at sea, returning to breed after three to seven years." They feed on small fish and have the ability to carry many at a time so that they can feed their young without so many trips. Kenai Fjords National Park, Alaska
