A few items to point out regarding the photo. First, it amazes sometimes how plants can grow in the harshest environments. The plant on the right side of the picture is growing in some very rough terrain as well as a very short growing season. It amazed me (and Billy I know you can appreciate this) that beside the road they would have long poles (probably 20 feet high) that would show the snow level as well as outline the road. Second, the road you see is how we traveled from Anchorage to Valdez which was absolutely a stunning drive and we were fortunate the weather was so good. And finally, this is a far as I felt comfortable going on this trail. The glacier was now far below with a very steep dropoff and there was another dropoff on the other side of the trail almost as bad. As mentioned earlier, I didn't feel real comfortable on this trail and I've been on some tough ones. Still, the hike is very doable and certainly very scenic. Time for the walk back to the parking lot.

A very good landscape and I bet when you look at it in reality it takes your breath...
On my taste the treatment of the photo is too much. If to view it in 75%, looks much better.

:)
