notes:
"The Universe is Change; every Change is the effect of an Act of Love; all Acts of Love contain Pure Joy."

These words are at the "Book of Thoth" a legendary book containing powerful spells and knowledge, said to have been buried with the Prince Neferkaptah in the City of the Dead at Menfis, Ancient Egypt. (actual Sakkara, near Cairo)

I don't know if the story is true, but I liked the phrase to accompany this image..

What it's veeery true is that there is another " City of the dead "at Cairo, a cemetery where nowadays, people very poor live among and inside old tombs,
But this place, and the verses of a great Egyptian poet, will be the subject at my next image! =)

I used to have a wine glass with the words, "Sometimes
Life is Pure Joy!" Probably most of us know the kind of
tangible joy to which that wine glass refers.
Looking at the expressions of these gentlemen, I'd say
you really captured their pure joy. A very arresting image
you captured that is beautiful to see.

A very good portrait Silvia ! Is that a 'hight five '?
Great story too, not sure how to incorporate it in everyday life..with the hurricanes, earthquakes, floods etc...and pure joy, but that's only on Earth, maybe the Universe has its own, 'good' way to unfold..?)

silvia marmori silvia marmori #7 Tue 15 Apr 2008 01:34

yes, it was! smile

i agree with you.. completely...
i was thinking to add to the images i made there, some verses by Egyptian poets...searching, i found this "spell".. it was the closer to my feelings towards these men .. then, i said to myself.. hey, a magic spell.. maybe the universe will be benevolent and will behave..
what to do.. i am an inveterate optimistic.. but when all what you mentioned happens, earthquakes and more... my philosophy becomes nothing..

It is great that we cant see the face of the third man. But looks like he is the one who is bringing joy! So, this time source is hidden but effect is still here.
Have a great day Sil, filled with pure joy!
