A couple of children, brother and sister, watching the majesty of the ocean in its prime.

Ok, I know the highlights are blown out, but does this detract from the image itself?

This was the cheap point and shoot camera.

it doesn't detract at all.. it should be always considered how did you do the shot, with which camera..
you did great with a P&S camera..
IMHO, it is important the technique but appeal is what makes an image attractive.. улыбаюсь
