Every nine years these cork-oaks are denuded to get its cover (the cork) - raw material very useful in buildings and to make stopper bottles ..
The units digit of the year is written over the denuded tree. In this case, the number 1 (from 2001) was inscribed with white ink .. So, the next operation will be done the year 201(0) and so on ..
This country is a big cork producer in the world
