You said it!!
I only make honest comments and will try to teach the little I know....

There is nothing in focus here and exposure is wrong... check your light meter and use center weight or spot to meter the most important area, the one you want to look ok. Due to high contrast and no detail or texture, you probably used matrix metering, which measured very contrasting lihts on the all scene, full white and full black, with hardly any gray in it!
Again, photoshop books would help, this could be 700% larger in filesize with the same area!!! Maybe this is why so few shades of gray and blurryness!!!
The good rating is due to me thinking the photo skills are good, but the low photoshop skill end up ruining everything!!
When I refer to photoshop, can be any other similar product...
Still, the composition is good
